About

About this site:

This site and the blog on it is created to share the knowledge & opinions of my work as an IT professional.
Expect a heavy emphasize on Backup & Disaster Recovery using Veeam software, as well as random PowerShell scripts & How-To guides to fix specific issues I have encountered.

whoami:

Currently I work for a Service Provider where we provide Backup & Disaster Recovery Services to both Distributors & Resellers as well as end-customers. We do all this leveraging Veeam Software, to provide BaaS, DRaaS & COS Services for VMware, Hyper-V, Azure & M365.

Here my job is both helping our pre- & post-sales, as well as manage the daily operations to keep our entire fleet of hypervisors & cloud services running smoothly.

As such Backups & Disaster recovery are a major part of what I work with these days. As an Engineer working with backup strategies & troubleshooting these, providing guidance & designing solutions to our partners & customers, as well as internally, requires more than just knowledge of the software needed to run the Backup Operations. As more often than not, the errors, limitations & setup requires knowledge of the platforms, databases & network that are being leveraged to perform backups & disaster recovery.

This means that I touch on both Public Clouds like Azure & IBM Cloud as well as Private Clouds, both VMware & Hyper-V, maintain the databases running our services, and more often than not, thinker with PowerShell & ways to automate and optimize internal processes and digging deep into our Veeam Cloud Connect setups & Veeam Service Provider Console.
